Akwaaba Travel Market Hosts Nigeria’s Tourism Queens as They Gear Up for International Beauty Pageant in Sri Lanka
On July 6th 2023, ATQNews and AKwaaba Travel Market hosted two remarkable tourism queens, Joy Ebere Ekekwe and Tosin Adeduro, were welcomed as they prepared to represent Nigeria at the upcoming Global Tourism Beauty Pageant in Sri Lanka.
Adding to the grandeur of the occasion was the presence of Yvonne, the Queens Concierge, who exuded elegance and charm.
Joy Ebere Ekekwe, the 11th Miss Tourism Nigeria, and Tosin Adeduro, the 4th Runner Up at Miss Tourism World 2022. This marked the second time the organization had the honor of hosting a queen, with Mrs. Ebele Enemchukwu being the first.
During their visit, Mr Ikechi Uko seized the opportunity to discuss various travel experiences with Joy, who displayed immense enthusiasm in learning how to promote domestic tourism to Nigerians and attract more tourists to Nigeria. He also extended his support by providing materials on the Seven Wonders of Nigeria project, shedding light on the totems, unique symbols, and cultural festivals of different states in Nigeria.
The conversation also touched upon the importance of promoting Nigeria to the diaspora through language lessons, Nigerian Music traditional dances, and showcasing the country’s vibrant destinations. Mr Ikechi Uko emphasized on the need to continue engaging in dialogue and advocating for Nigeria as the best tourist destination.
Excitement reached its peak when Joy was invited to attend the prestigious Akwaaba African Travel Market 2023. The organization expressed its hope that she would secure the crown and bring international acclaim to Nigeria. Another queen who attended both Akwaaba and Abuja Jabamah Queen Hadassah Ibinyingi G. Allaputa, achieved remarkable success after their visit.
Reflecting on the past, Mr Ikechi Uko remembered the time when Agbani Darego, then the reigning MBGN queen, was hosted by his client. Little did he know that Agbani would later make history by winning Miss World.
Furthermore, he proudly recalled hosting another queen who had just won the prestigious Mrs. World Tourism Crown in Jamaica. With these achievements in mind, he wholeheartedly wished Joy Ebere Ekekwe the best of luck and favor, hoping she would bring the coveted crown home to Nigeria.
